Elena Acosta, MPH, 200hr. RYT

Elena gained her Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) 200 hour certification May 2018 locally from Casa de Yoga, and has been a proponent of the practice since 2001. Elena taught yoga to children at First Presbyterian Preschool, The J Early Learning Center, Coronado Montessori and adult yoga at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Student Recreation Center, First Presbyterian Church, Coronado Montessori and Saturday mornings at The Farmers' Market at Ardovino's Desert Crossing, prior to the pandemic.

Elena received an award for athlete of the year, when she was only 14 years old, in recognition of her academics, and enthusiasm for sports and health. Elena graduated with a Bachelor of Health Education in 2003, and a Master of Public Health in 2005, from New Mexico State University. She has over twenty years of experience managing health education programs, along the U.S. Mexico Border. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership El Paso, has served on a number of nonprofit boards, and recently completed her 2020-21 term as Chair of CASFV’s (Center Against Sexual and Family Violence) Board of Directors.

Students will use their to set the pace of this soft vinyasa. Allow your stress to melt away and move through vinyasas, warrior poses and through a balancing pose, without many long holds. End your practice with gratitude in a savasana, allowing any last bits of tension to dissipate.

Elena's yoga style is Gentle Flow Vinyasa. This gentle flow offers a meditative practice that links breath and movement, that will feel just like hitting the release valve.
